in my system drive/library/receipts folder there are several "packages" in there.
can i delete some of these (like some of the language packages?)
these look like they are leftover installer packages that never got used for some reason.
is that true?
Actually, that's where OS X keeps track of what is actually installed on your system. Probably not a good idea to delete those.
