I've been looking for one of these PCI cards for a while now, so as to add a
second HD to my (Rev 1) B&W. Just found what sounds like a real bargain in
the form of a "Silicon Image Ultra ATA/133 PCI adapter" (details at
http://www.softwareandstuff.com/CRD10155.html). But will it work in a
Mac????

All advice received most gratefully.

Best,
Victoria

Hi Victoria (fellow B&Wer, ~~~ Hi Bruce!!~~~~

Well I remember when I wanted to use my old cheapo ATA card from my winders machine, I was told that you need to have one that is mac compatible. Well I wanted just to see anyway, and sure enough, it didn't work.

Sorry Victoria, but iffa you want an ATA card, you'll have to cough up about $70 or so like I did; I only trust OWC for that, as with memory. Darnit, huh? Same goes for a SCSI card. But you may be able to find something cheaper on ebay or the LEM swap list, if you're a member of the swap list already. If you're not, I can keep an eye out for ya, if you'd like. I haven't seen any in a lonnnnng time tho. i could put out a feeler for you tho. let me know. We Rev 1 B&W people gotta stick together! <smile>
