Bill, You didn't mention exactly what was done with the jumpers, but here is my imagined scenario, which could be totally wrong, but maybe... The Sonnett upgrade sounds like it was half-done before you got it, and the system doesn't want to boot. I'm looking at an FAQ on the Sonnett site that says third-party cards that need THEIR firmware updated can cause problems. So let's say this paralyzed it. You tried several things that still didn't fly and decided to see if it would go would with the original processor. Was it a typo or did you actually set jumpers for a 200 MHz chip? If it was 200, you need to reset them for 300 at least, the slowest B&W extant. If that works, you might try replacing the Sonnett and pulling all PCI cards out possible to eliminate those, putting one at a time back in till it brick-walls the system again. Does anything at all come onscreen or does it just stay black? How did you update the firmware?

I had already removed all the third party cards before attempting to upgrade to the Sonnet.
Yes, I think the zif in there was either a 233 or 266. I know it was running previously in the 200s somewhere. When I reset the jumpers I put them back exactly where they were the last time it worked.
Will try to boot to 9 with extensions disabled, but since I'm not getting a chime I'm kinda doubtful. I just tried that and again, nothing happened.
All I'm getting is a black screen.
It's been a month or two since I did the firmware upgrade, so I don't exactly recall how I did that. I followed some instructions, held the programmer's key, etc etc and that was it. Just before my last attempt to do the Sonnet I double checked by attempting to install Sonnet's OF upgrade, and got the message that it had already been done.
