My "new" AHARD 66 PCI card arrived today, fresh from the swap list. I
plan to put this card in my PC case converted beige, but I'm curious as
to how I should set it up. I currently have a 3.2 Gb IDE drive which
has OS 9.2.2 on it, a 50 Gb SCSI drive with 10.3.9 on it, a DVD ROM
drive and a CD burner, plus an IDE Zip drive. Some of you may recall
that I lost one of my on board IDE channels when I did the case
conversion, so I bought the ATA card to replace it. As of now I only
have the 3.2 Gb IDE and the DVD ROM drive in use because I don't have
enough connections for everything, so what is the best way to hook all
this up with the new ATA card so that I get the best performance? The
CD burner is only 8x, so it probably doesn't need a fast connection,
but I may upgrade to a larger IDE HD in the near future and I'm
guessing it should be on the card. I'm completely open for
suggestions.
Just a message from Doug...
