Darwin != Mac OSX. and "hackers" didn't get Darwin running on X86,
Apple did...and now we know why they did...
There are any number of ways OSX could be restricted to running on
Apple hardware only: specific ROMS on the motherboard, various
hardware ID stuff, Intel's own DRM features they're building into the
CPU.
