This is to announce the birth of my new "previously
owned" G3/300 [...] It is great...
I run a previously-owned G3/333 myself, Richard, running OS 9.2.2. It
will probably be my last Mac before getting one designed to run OS X. I
have chosen not to run OS X on this one because I don't need to. You
might say I'm stuck on the Classic OS. I can't help with any OS X
questions, but ask me for anything else.
For email I use PowerMail <http://www.ctmdev.com> which also provides an
OS X version for them who's so inclined. I am fond of iCab <http://
www.icab.de> and registered to use iCab v3beta. Prior to this I had been
using good ol' Claris Emailer. The most refined model is version 2, still
available on eBay and *certain* other places.
I have been using my external mega-gig SCSI drive for backup purposes.
(jighly recommended that backup thin, you know?) When it died, I turned
my internal 16 GB SCSI drive into the backup medium.
