FYI: I talked to Steve Jobbs about 10 years ago and urged him to make Apple into two things:
AppleSoft - to write software directly against MicroSoft as a second source for IBM computers. and Apple Computer Company mfg of computer hardware and release the copyright on the bus, so it could gain in market share.
