I have been trying to clear my machine of cache.

I have cleared the cache in Safari.
I have run about three of four cache cleaners. (Cocktail, Cache Out, Tiger Cache Cleaner, etc)

I continue to get a long list of past entries when I run Safari, go to Google website and type in the window.

How do I clear that stuff?????????

I could be wrong, but I think that is not your cache but rather info that is stored in cookies.

If you go to the Safari menu and choose "reset Safari" you will clear the cache, clear history, and trash the cookies. Then I think you can type unmolested in the search field of google.

When you ran "Cocktail" did you or did you not select clear cookies? The choice is in the "Pilot" section under "Task" then click the "OPTIONS" button. Then in the next menu select the button next to "Show advanced cache cleaning options. When you get the next menu select the Internet option. Then you'll be able to chose "Cookies, History, Download list, Safari form values and Safari website icons.
