dude, installing OSX IS your answer. what he is suggesting is that rather
than spending a lot of time getting an older OS and deprecated browser to
work, go ahead and step up to the platform where those issues have been
addressed and rectified.
if you don't have the scratch for Tiger, the most recent versions of OSX,
Panther and Jaguar, run great and are very reasonably priced these days.
if you need Classic for an app or two, keep it by all means. but for the
things you're describing, a simple upgrade will set you right.
