Hmm ... I just saw a PCI VisionTek Radeon 7k at a local shop on their clearance rack, I'm not sure how much, but I'm sure it's cheap. Where can I get the replacement ROMs and I will learn how to solder :) Thanks for all the info, I really appreciate it.

The short answer is no except for the full Radeon 8500 64MB pc agp card (not the LE). The 7000 pci cards can be problematic unless they are Sapphire or Powercolor etc - the Connect3D 7000 pci can have a strange rom chip which causes problems if my memory serves me correctly. The 64k roms can also be problematic too - fixed resolutions or acceleration problems. The labelling on the rom chips can also be mistaken - says 64k but turns out to be 128k - so there's no guarantee with any make of card. My advice is to learn to solder surface mount chips and get a variable temp iron and some dental picks. The replacement rom chips are less than 2 dollars each - and a card with a blank 128k chip can be flashed in a mac.... Pete -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
