Hi there all

I've got a B/W G4 500mhz system and i'm wanting to upgrade the memory. At present i have three sticks of PC100 128mb. I've tried a PC133 256mb, but it caused crashes. I've read one several posts in the past of people successfully using PC133 and i was just wondering what peoples advice is. I know the B/W won't read 512mb sticks, so i've stayed away from them.

Also what is this i hear about Tiger not running on B/W's? Is this true?
My dad just got Tiger (cheaply) for his Imac DV 400 and it said it won't install on his system. Can anyone advise on this, as i was thinking of installing it too.

Odds are it's a machine specific install (disks that came with a machine). While these use to work on all machines it appears they don't any more, as of 10.3 I think.

Also a while back when i got my G4 500, someone told me i could over clock it to 600mhz, is this true and is it safe? I've left of researching it, because i don't wish to see my expensive CPU blow up. I've already had to fit a fan on top of it, because it runs hot.

If it already runs hot I'd stay away from overclocking it.
