Thats bad business as far as Im concerned. Not the kind of Apple computer I thought I knew.

As others pointed out, this is nothing new. Apple and other computer makers (and companies in other industries) have been doing this for decades. It's just the way thing are.

I have a B&W G3/300 with only 384MB RAM, and Panther runs just fine on that. Now, I'm not trying to run Adobe Photoshop on it, but for basic tasks there's nothing wrong with it.

Uhh, photoshop ran better on my 180MHz powermac 604 with 2MB VRAM and 96mb ram than os x does on my 450mhz g4 with 128mb vram and 896mb ram. I could go on
and on with examples but ill stop there.

Are you running the same version of Photoshop? If not, it could be Adobe's fault just as much as it is Apple's.
