I would guess that would be the case, as well. I guess this would be the logical place to insert a statement about "Thank God for AMD," and "I love my 64bit processor which does not have that old 4 gig memory limit," but I won't do something that crass. Nor will I point out that the graphics card is AGP, when most of the Wintel world is moving over to the MUCH faster PCI-Xpress. It is my guess that this mobo would probably cost about $35-45 retail, but I have been wrong before. I hope this is only the Mac-Mini board.

This is NOT representative of what Apple's going to ship; it's a quick off-the-shelf hack to get as many development boxes into the hands of developers as quickly as possible.

Also, by using off the shelf components, Apple didn't place any specialized logic board orders that would have hinted at the X86 transition. It's truly amazing that Apple managed to keep as tight a lid on this as they did.

If this were their release system they SURE as heck wouldn't be waiting until NEXT YEAR to ship it, would they?

VAST amounts of completely unfounded speculation is being attached to this system; we're not going to know what the Mactel systems look like until they ship.

In fact, it's completely unlikely that this even remotely resembles the Mac mini; remember, the Mini is essentially an iBook folded into a small box with an external screen, mouse and keyboard.

The mini is going to use laptop technology.
