My mileage has varied much. My first successful install of OS X onto this 
damned machine was using a vintage Apple High Resolution (ha...doesn't support 
above 640x480!) Display. Disks 1 and 2 went through without a hitch, though it 
couldn't run the initial configuration program afterwards due to the monitor 
(probably said resolution limitation). Hopefully, the installation won't crash 
and burn this time.
