Yeah, it might. With that set, the 10.2.8 external HD doesn't wake up
fast enough to be able to boot . Have to go back thru 9.1 & XPostfacto.
(After using HDTools locate & mount the offending drive.

pretty good sign that the system is truly hung, from my past
experiences. I reset it, set the startup disk to the primary (OS9) HD,

Might turning off the "Turn off HD whenever possible" item in the
Energy Saver section possibly have any effect on the whole blanking
problem?
