Thanks, Guys. I will do a complete re-install of the OS. I remember using Adblock and filters from pierceive.com because of the slowdowns (up to 10 seconds to load a page) caused by img.mediaplex or adfarm.mediaplex (used by Yahoo for their ads). Seems those filters may have played a role other than for which they are intended (?). Lately, the error messages were "this document has no data" and "server inacessible". But still everything works in Windoz.
