I still think that one of the best keyboards ever made were those made by IBM. I used to work for Honeywell, which was an OEM maker of keyboards in the early days of the personal PC, but I always used an IBM keyboard.
I have a MacAlly 'Snow' board, but I don' t like it much either. I'm going to get an adapter and hook up my old Apple ADB extended keyboard from yesteryear. It still has the best feel of any Apple keyboard, IMO.
BTW, I don't use a mouse at all anymore, but a Kensington trackball. I see no way I will ever use a mouse again. What I want most is a vertical trackball, so my hand is in the handshake position, much easier on wrist. Since I've never seen one, I'm going to make my own.
