Subject: [G] Pioneer DVR-109 in a G4 667MHz tower running Tiger
Date: Tue, 19 Jul 2005 14:13:27 -0400
Could I hear from anyone out there who has successfully transplanted a
Pioneer DVR-109 DVD/RW unit into a G4 667MHz tower? I just did this
and seem able to get the drive to programmatically eject and close its
drawer, but it seems unable to read any DVDs or CDs I feed it.
I have run through the "PatchBurn" process, but to no avail...
Did I hear wrong (that this drive works OK, with some fixups)?
Comments? Suggestions?
Thanks,
KR
I have one in my G4/400 under Tiger and it works perfectly.
did you replace the original drive? If so are the master/slave
settings the same as the old drive?
Is the cable securely fastened? I had problems getting it to fully
seat in my machine.
It might just be a dud. The read write head might be NG or just dirty
or misadjusted.
