Oops, must've accidentally pressed the send button too early. I just tried the key combination you mention, and it didn't seem to do anything: I immediately got a floppy icon, then it went to the Happy Mac icon, then it reset itself as normal, and booted into OS X. I'm getting a feeling that something within the system software has become corrupted. -Adam
