Do you mean Internet Explorer when you mention IE? Not sure of the relevance, but I will answer your question about Techtools. I have used it for the last 10 or 15 years, starting with OS 7. I has bailed me out plenty of times. For instance, when your machine comes up with the blinking question mark, and a re-start is no help. I have put in the tech tools CD and held down the 'C' key and started up with Techtools and ran the full diagnostic. Usually it is a case of a conflict because of some program I am using. Techtools gives me a full report on what it found, what it fixed and what it couldn't fix and recommendations. Like I say, it has been a big help. I recently bought Techtools for Panther on my 733 DA. Haven't had a chance to fool around with it too much yet. But it is always good to have a CD to be able to start up with and do diagnostics and repair. It also does a check for virus, but I am not sure how good that is, since Techtools does not offer an on-line up-date like Norton. Works great for me with OS 9 and previous.
Kathi snip I was curious about the Tech tools you mentioned. I recently switched to Mac when I bought a B & W G3 that belonged to U of San Diego, after they switched to G5's. I could not believe the price until I realized a lot of the things I was used to with IE were nowhere to be found on Mac(free anti-spy-ware, free media players...). P.S.
