Id be using RAID 1.  Which will read signifigantly faster than a non RAIDed 
drive, write slightly slower, be twice as reliable, but have half as much space 
as the amount of drives put into it.  reliability is most important to me on 
these old compaq drives because, well, theyre old compaq drives.
