Chris, DayStar has always had top notch upgrades. Up there with Newer
Tech. Better than PowerLogix or Sonnet. Its just they keep going out of
business. Before they last went out of business they were known as XLR8.

Do you have any details on that? I've occasionally been curious about it.

Daystar had a very long existence going back to the late 80s at least and perhaps earlier. IIRC, they closed their doors shortly after the Great Clone Killing by Jobs.

What I don't remember is whether XLR8 existed prior to that event. So was there some continuity from Daystar's death to XLR8's birth? I know there were some employees who went from one to the other, because Gary Dailey who's now operating the company bearing both names was with Daystar long before XLR8 came on the seen. At least I have a memory of support messages from him regarding Daystar's products.

Daystar stuff was top notch. Way back when, if you wanted a good upgrade you bought Daystar. If you could live with some bizarre incompatibilities and couldn't afford Daystar you bought Sonnet.

The only difference I can see today is that you don't have the choice of buying Daystar.
