Hey G-Listers

Anyone here know how to tell a regular ethernet cable from a cross-over
ethernet cable? I have a ton of them but can't see what the difference
is. Google doesn't help much.

Thanks for any help.

The easiest way is to hold the ends of the cable up so you
can see the colored wires through the connector on each end.

Hold them next to each other and compare the postions of the
wires on each end. On a regular cable, the wires will be the
same on each end. On a crossover cable, the wires will be in
a different order on each end.

Thank you Ken, perfect. So far I *don't* have any crossovers :-( I will keep lookin'

Now why couldn't I find that on Google? So simple and elegant!
