What is "Deep Sleep?" All I've got on 10.4.2 is "Sleep."
Momentarily depress your main power switch, which should place the
platform into "Deep Sleep"
Don't hold it for very long, because then it will power-off.
Selecting Sleep under the Apple Menu will also put the system in Deep
Sleep (usually, your system may vary).
Apple says "When you select the Sleep command in Mac OS (or when the
computer goes to sleep as a result of Energy Saver settings), as many
components as possible will enter a low-power mode. If all hardware
components and connected peripherals are in low-power mode, your
computer is in deep sleep. However, not all hardware components and
peripherals are capable of running in low-power mode. If one or more
hardware components or peripherals does not enter a low-power mode,
your computer may simply sleep."
Basically, all PowerBooks, iBooks, Power Mac (AGP Graphics) or later,
and iMac (Slot Loading) or later, can deep sleep. Apple Article
#106790 explains it in greater detaii.
