By chance do you have a graphic filling up the first page? If so, then you would need to go into your Word prefs and set it to print objects. It's been a while since I was in classic Word, but there might be some other settings such as for printing Drafts, this would also omit graphics in a print job. So if that's the case, look for these in your Word Print Prefs.

The other possibility is, if the first page requires extra memory, memory that your printer might not have enough of, it would simply omit the page by default as a means of dealing with it. I've had this happen often on my older Oki Postscript Printer. Do you have updated software for the printer? Is it an older printer?

If you can give a bit more information on your printer make & model and the document contents, it might help isolate your problem.
