I've understood that Beige has only a 33MHZ IDE bus and a 66 MHZ system bus (memory and PCI bus). Installing a new hard drive controler card should, best case, double my IDE throughput with anything greater than an ATA 66 card but I would also like to enable Huge drive support (>137BG) and wouldn't that that would require ATA 133 card for at least $75.00 plus shipping? I haven't seen any ATA 66 cards but I do all my shopping at Other World Computing. I would rather put that much $ into my Get a "Mac Mini Fund" Also I had a very difficult time installing X 10.3 on my Beige, it is currently installed on two drives. I also ran the combo updater to get 10.3.9.. The updates version is very unstable crashing often, maybe I should try to reinstall. Thanks in advance.
