I feel a bit guilty that I have not yet had the time to sort
this out given the generously given and sensible advice
received. How come I have time to read and write posts? Because
I am here on my 7300 working away and it is a nice (unstoppable)
distraction at my fingertips. The G4 is slightly further away in
another room on another floor and involves connecting a few
power chords, taking up my optical mouse and disks and stuff!
Soon... perhaps I should not jinx the situation but I think you
and Bruce and others are likely right about checking boxes which
I did not recall doing... and putting on drivers... So I feel
comfortable now...
