  THis advise is correct I have been using a Windows
Fat 32 formatted Hard drive in an external enclosure
for about two years without problems, Till that very
last time I dropped it that is, as long as the drive
is smaller than 137 gigs it should also be useable
internaly as well. 

Huge Drives (larger than 137 gigs) can be partitioned
into 2 smaller than 137 gig drives and used in an
external HD enclosure at least in X 10.2 and if I
remember corectly in OS 9 as well.
