Do any of you have any criticism of the G4 Yikes model of the Power Mac.? It seems that I remember a recommendation to steer clear of this model, but I
cannot be sure.

Ya, lowendmac.com has it listed as a road apple. Not very upgradeable. I have a Yikes 400 that I bought for $400 2.5 years ago, and it was a decent price (with a 19" monitor) then. I love the thing. I maxed out the video with a flashed Radeon 7000, gave it a second hard drive, upgraded the primary hard drive, and added a 7 port USB card. I also put a Pioneer DVR 107 in it. Runs Panther great. I agree, don't pay what people are paying for a Sawtooth, but otherwise a nice little machine, no matter what they say.
