Nowhere in my post did I say that this was the absolute, end all,
truth--just my experience. The choice of not wanting to purchase a
video card off ebay was also my choice and nowhere did I say that it
was required. I have purchased a few things from Sonnettech in the
past and like their products. If I chose to pay a bit more--also my
choice and also not stated as the only way to do this--just the way I
did it.
Some of you take things so literally and are just so picky about
every little issue, it's almost a pain to post something here. I
simply stated MY EXPERIENCE! YOUR EXPERIENCE MIGHT BE TOTALLY
DIFFERENT.
I do have to restate, thought, that the Revision 1 Blue & White G3
that Powermax.com sold me was definitely not the optimum piece of
equipment either. The video card was not stock and was totally
substandard. The 6 gig hard drive was on it's last legs and before I
even began to upgrade anything, it was having difficulty accepting an
upgrade to 9.1 from the 8.6 that it shipped with (various clicks and
whirrs--unhealthy hard drive sounds).
The poster below is practically calling me a liar--he doesn't come
right out and say it, but it's there. So, I repeat....this is only
my experience, your experience may be totally different. There now
pick that apart.

I have to second that Rev 1s are fine. Indeed they do have issues
with some
harddrives, but an ATA card shouldnt cost that much. I really dont
understand
how you spent $400 before it would work. A 16MB ATI card runs
about $5 from
eBay. A new ATI card with 128MB has costed a bit over $100 for
quite some
time now. Further, I really think that the harddrive issues were
only specific
to about one brand name of harddrives, Maxtor i think, maybe
Western Digital.
I set one up and it worked fine.
