I would like to also point out GraphicConverter, a fairly cheap (yet
quite powerful) image/graphic/photo program. http://
graphicconverter.net It IS shareware so you can give it a shot before
you spend the money.

Actually, there were a LOT of improvements from 5-6-7, not merely
OS X compatibility.
But there are free image "processors" that are OS X compatible. The
Gimp for instance <http://www.gimp.org/macintosh/>, and ImageJ,
<http://rsb.info.nih.gov/ij/> and if you don't use "all the fancy
doodle", here's a copy of Photoshop Elements 2.0 for $20 <http://

All OS X compatible (though the Gimp runs in X-Windows).
