Eww, not good. Of course, you did say that as soon as you hit the switch it goes off... This could be a bad power supply. My file server was doing something like this not long ago. Swapped out the power supply, it's happy again. I'd try the power supply first. And since it's a B&W, there are plenty of sites that show how to modify a standard ATX power supply to work.
