Never mind...I got down to actually check the interior of the MT, & sure enough, the WD was jumpered for master! Sorry about that -- it was working fine under 8.6 in a 6500 before I put it in the MT, & I just ass-u-me'd that it was unjumpered when I put it in the MT & reformated! I guess that only applies to booting from X?
