What does Apple offer in the way of a media center style OS add-on?

An interesting read. Covers both the new iMac and iPod, and how Apple has blown it on the whole media center concept...

I'd hold off on saying "Apple's 'blown it'", for crying out loud the stuff's been out there for less than 72 hours.

The writers at the Reg have a serious thing about DRM in any form, and Apple in particular for some reason, and constantly whinge about how draconian the ITMS is.

What he doesn't say is the reason the Windows Media Center stuff has tanked so far is the same reason that all the rest of the MP3 players have tanked in comparison to the iPod.

"It's the interface, stupid!"

(and no, the rest of those buttons on the media center remote are NOT abut changing the channel, they're about changing the channel and the 7,895 OTHER things remote manufacturers stuff their remotes with, like the "A" button.)
