Theres a very simple way to figure this out. The biggest shiniest chip
on the motherboard (other than the G3) has numbers that end in either 66
or 83. If its 66, you probably cant get more than about 70MHz out of
the motherboard. If its 83 you can get 83MHz, and not sure if there are
higher settings. If you have this 83MHz chip and PC100 or faster
memory, then I highly recommend using an 83MHz bus.
Anyway I had a 350MHz chip that did not run at 400MHz. I think my main
problem is that I did not use thermal grease. I ran the machine at
83.33/375MHz for quite a while with no problems. 466MHz I think would
be tough without a fan blowing across the processor (across is better
than straight down especially in a beige which would have little space
above a fan mounted on top of the heatsink) and some good thermal
grease. You could also do 83/416.67MHz or 83/458.33MHz
