Well, I dont think having drivers on the harddrive matters when trying
to
boof off a CD.
I do believe, that this TL iMac I'm using right now had that very
problem
when I received it and before I decided to clone the installed OSX off
to
an Ext. USB HD, reformatted the Int. HD w/ the OS9 drivers added in,
then
could c-key boot to install OS9.21 and upgraded to 9.22 then followed up
with a reclone back of the OSX. tho I could be all wrong and/or it was a
this iMac's unique specific problem.-iirc
But let's hope that your G4 doesn't require this workaround, and that
if'n
a c-key bootup isn't working that a DOCS(cmd/shift/option/delete from
power
on) , or that a PRAM zap with a followup c-key or DOCS startup will get
the
CD OS install disk startup boot job done. Anyway you look at it, they're
certainly tryable, easy and cheap if'n nothin' else in the toolbox
works.
