I don't have a second monitor, but the utility Onyx http:// 
mac.softpedia.com/get/System-Utilities/OnyX.shtml lets you set the  
dock to the far right of the bottom. Might work. (under 'Appearance')

This was a great tip.  I set the dock to "top" in OnyX and it went to the top of
my second monitor which is stacked above the primary.  Perfect solution to
keeping it out of the way.

OnyX does lots of useful stuff and is free too.  Great!
