Danielle,
Sounds like you have an open email message. Click on the message
after it minimizes to the dock. Once it is on the desktop, click the
red close button. Next time mail opens, you should only have one
window opening.

Recently, whenever I open Mail, it opens two windows and minimizes
one of then to the dock area by the trash can. This did not happen
before. I have checked prefs to see if something in there may be
the cause. I don't see anything. I have repaired permissions. It
still happens.
Any one know why?
