I've installed OS 10.4 x86 on a couple PC's. Works great, very fast. Heck of a lot cheaper than a new G5. It doesn't matter if you have Intel or not, works on anything with SSE3 or if you use the fixed version anything with SSE2.
This is exactly what I expressed concerns about when Apple made the announcement about going to Intel! If folks can install OSX on generic cheap-ass PC hardware, why would they be willing to pay a premium to buy a Macintel? And Apple becomes a software and iPod/iTunes company....... So long Macintosh, it was nice knowing you!
