Some time ago, you suggested to someone on the list to use a drive enclosure for whatever project they were working on and you supplied a link for one of these devices at Computer Geeks. I looked at the link and decided to try one myself. Picked up an LG DL 16x8x6 DVD±RW/RAM & CDRW drive to go in the enclosure at the same time. It arrived today and once I got it open and put the drive in it, I couldn't wait to try it out. Being the lazy sod that I am, I just plugged into the USB hub I have on my desk instead of the firewire on the back of my B&W. I just mainly wanted to make sure all the connections were good before I put the enclosure back together. I had a DVD laying there also so I stuck that in to see what it would do. To my surprise it not only recognized the disc and mounted it as it should, the DVD player app kicked in and it started playing the movie! I never imagined one could play a DVD using USB 1.x and just figured it would be too slow. I noticed a couple of bumps as I was watching, but for the most part it played just fine. So thanks Bruce, I can see this will be a handy little thing to have around!

Just a message from Doug...
