Hi all,

I found this address with info on BeOS on PPC. <http://www.beatjapan.org/mirror/www.be.com/support/qandas/ powermac.html>. One page does say that BeOS for PPC does work on some PCI PPCs with the Newertech G3 PCI upgrade. See here. <http://www.beatjapan.org/mirror/www.be.com/support/qandas/faqs/faq -0443.html>. And here is a list of supported systems and systems purported to work but not supported. <http://www.beatjapan.org/mirror/www.be.com/support/guides/ beosreadylist_ppc.html>. Here is a review of what appears to be the fastest NewerTech G3 PCI upgrade. <http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/G3CARDS/Newer466/>.

Doug, thanks for telling us all you have a copy of BeOS 5. Also sometimes they are available on eBay. Right now BeOS 4 is available here. <http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ViewItem&item=7211767178&fromMakeTrack=true>.

And thanks to Dan for mentioning a positive alternative a few days back so we can do more than complain. Since the BeOS does work on the G3 upgraded PPC I hope people do not feel it is off topic. If it is, can there anyplace else for continuing this conversation? One last thing. Any idea where to get more BeOS apps? Sad to say, many of the previous places no longer exist.

Thanks,
                Anand Keathley
