I haven't tried the quicktime plug-ins yet. But in general - good riddance. WMP on the Mac is crapware.

Yes WMP, to quote Dan from the Booyah Intel thread, is padda dodo. But, if you need to play a windows media file, you do need something to play it with. I just downloaded the flip for Mac plugin from ms's link at

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/flip4mac.mspx

and it does a much better job using quicktime than WMP ever did.

It only currently plays files up to Windows Media Video 9 Advanced Profile and needs 10.3.9 and quicktime 6.5 to run (durn, another deathnell for my beige).
