Tom, This is a message about Mac G3 screws a couple of years ago, also on this G-List. I am not sure that the G4 screws are the same but I have heard that they are. I hope this helps. Don

(Incredible that Apple would standardize on M3.5-0.6 in 1984 ... with the introduction of the Mac 128K ... yet only a year later that size was consdered archaic by the ISO). Word to the wise ... Apples are metric machines, and the only place you'll see UNC fasteners is where a disk drive vendor supplied its product with UNC threaded mounting. All "#6 size" fasteners are actually M3.5-0.6. All "#4 size" fasteners are really M3.0-0.5. And, although the PCI standard calls for 6-32 UNC fasteners to retain PCI cards, Apple uses M3.5-0.6 there, too. *************************** Tom Baker wrote: > As I install drives to sleds, sleds to cases, modems, fans, etc. in my > G4 I have to keep scrounging around for those itty bitty screws that > hold everything together, and I'm amazed at how many different lengths > and thread sizes are required.
