Hi all,
I wonder if somebody could explain some things to me ...
I have three G3 iMacs - 2 x 400's and 1 x 500. As far as I can work out,
[and of course Apple don't seem to jhave helped calling several machines the
same name, and nor does Apple seem to provide a colour chart so I can see
what the difference between 'blueberry' and 'indigo' are ...] The machines
are listed as:
400 / IN / 64 / 10G / CD / 128P / 56K / FW / VGA / APR which I
think is an Indigo iMac (Early 2001);
400 / 512K L2 / 64 / 10G / DVD / 56K
which I think is a Lime iMac (DV), and
500 / IN / 64 / 20 / CD / 128Pro / 56K / FW / VGA
which I think is an Indigo iMac (Summer 2001)
I know that the first digit is the processor speed; the '512 L2' is cache;
the '64' is the original amount of RAM; the '10G' & '20' refers to the HDD
size; the 'CD' or 'DVD' refers to the ATAPI Drive configuration; the '128P'
and '128Pro' refers to the Video Processor; the '56K' is the presence of a
modem; the 'FW' is presence of FireWire, and the 'VGA' refers to the VGA
output connector on the back of the Logic Board, but on the Indigo iMacs,
the nomenclature lists "IN" after the 400 & 500, respectively, and I am
unable to figure what this means. [I have checked the TechSpecs for each of
these machines, and am still unable to clarify the meaning of "IN".]
On the Indigo 400 iMac, the nomenclature lists "APR" after the VGA adapter,
and this also baffles me.
Can anybody please help me out here?
