> Further to my report of problem installing 10.2.8 on a Beige G3: The problem turned out to be with the owner/operator: me. I was certain I had upgraded to 10.2.6 before trying to install the 10.2.8 update, but on checking again, found I had only gone as far as 10.2.5! So I found the 10.2.6 update and will install it tonight then try 10.2.8 again. Thanks to all who replied with suggestions.
