I've had Classic die on me twice now. I could still boot on it
directly (b&w), but it wouldn't even begin to start up as Classic.
Only way to get it back was a reinstall...
I clarify: It was fine with Jaguar, but when I moved to Panther
here's what began to happen. The little "show/hide Classic" window
appears, the blue status bar begins sliding from left to right, and
when it gets probably 95% of the way there it just stops and
nothing more happens. At which point I lose patience and click Stop
loading Classic.
Click the reveal arrow and see what's actually going on. That shows
the OS 9 startup screen; you'll be able to see the extensions load, etc.
Try starting it without extensions.
