    My G4 Sawtooth has always made an infrequent sound similar to a phone
ringing - very quiet - almost inaudible. Still does it though I'm so used to
it I barely notice it now...I have no idea why...the internal modem was
removed many years ago - perhaps that's got something to do with it.
