Um... I've noticed recently that we often freely recommend various apps, here and on the other LEM lists, but no longer make a point of including an appropriate url. Have we decided that everyone automagically knows to google or use versiontracker or macupdate etc? Or should be be making a point of including appropriate urls?

IMO, it's polite to include the URL, or a TinyURL <http:// www.tinyurl.com> if it's really long. Plugins exist for both Safari and Firefox/Mozilla that makes getting a TinyURL as simple as clicking a link.

Aditonal tip: Most mail clients properly handle even the longest url's (most of the time) if you put angle brackets around them < >.

Additional Additional tip: Mail in OS X has an annoying habit of *sometimes* sticking extraneous spaces in URL's, so if at first you get a "404 Page Not Found" error, look for a '%20' in the URL, deleting it and trying again.
