Trust me Dan, if you limit the discussion to pure image quality,
and ignore the "coolness" and energy issues, there will be a lot
more people in your camp than you think.
Look at a good, high-end LCD, not one of the cheapo ones.
By now CRT versus LCD is largely a 'Vinyl versus CD' religious
conflict, imo. A good quality, properly calibrated LCD is quite
comparable to any CRT made.

I must say I am - surprise, surprise - sold on these LCDs. Must be I
have a good one... paid enough for it! 20" Dell (yes, I know, Dell...).
Put it this way, it has made all my other screens look like such sh**
that I can barely turn them on. I was thinking of getting a new 21"
CRT as well (can be more easily used on same card and older
Powermacs, their cheaper cost as a second monitor etc, but i am not
so sure now that Iwon't get another LCD).
This Dell has 2 USB ports which I use on the USB 2 card.
I have never been able to work out how to alter anything on it
though! Contrast and brightness etc. Nothing seems to work, not even
the on-monitor push button controls... Luckily it is perfect as is,
how does it manage this?
