Karen writes, <My speakers on my Beige G3 just quit yesterday in the middle of a song--I tested the speakers on another piece of equipment, they are still working--- What on the G3 do I need to replace?? or reset??
I re-started, and have sound from the computer's speaker, but to my mind it's less than before, i.e., I have the output up to max and it's kinda quiet. Maybe coincidence, but at the time the sound went, the time disappeared from the menu bar--but it reappeared when I reset it from System Preferences. Can't find anything like that for sound.> What OS are you using on your Beige? Mine's on 9.2.2, and while I have yet to hook external speakers to it (next weekend with any luck, though), I have had the sound (from the Beige's own speaker) go out on me. I don't know why it did this, but here's how I've restored it. Remember, this is pre OS X advice: On the Control Strip, there's a little speaker icon. Click on it and adjust the slider upwards to increase the volume to the level comfortable to you. ~Yersinia. ________ "You can't make a fact out of an opinion by raising your voice." -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
